About Joe Oshua

Joe Oshua is the author of the "The Shadow and the Noodle" universe, a world that spans two distinct genres.

Writing across the spectrum, Joe has created a single, expansive storyline for his characters. While his children’s series captures the playful dynamic of the duo, "The Midnight Walker" peels back the layers to reveal their cinematic origin saga. It is one story told at two different depths: the whimsical adventures we know, and the stylized, high-stakes legend behind them.

But Oreo has a secret. Under all that fluff, he isn’t lazy. He is pure energy. He is a silent shadow and a midnight hunter. He is a Ninja, but he prefers the humans to think he is just a furniture decoration. It’s better for his nap schedule.

"Stop!" Oreo shouted in her mind. "Don't touch that glove!"
"But it smells like grape soda and static!" Diva chirped.
"I sneezed on that glove five years ago!" Oreo warned. "It gave me the power of the Ninja! It is too strong for you!".

The worlds are almost ready!

The woman paused but did not flinch at his tone. She simply cleared her throat, a small lumping sound in the vast emptiness of the mountaintop. She tipped the bowl back, taking one final drink.

She lowered the bowl and adjusted her gloves, the mother-of-pearl catching the fading light of the fountain. A crackle of some unknown animal clashed against the sounds of the plateau, followed by the sound of a branch rustling. “Nothing” she thought to herself.

"I will leave after ki light but before vo light," she said to the figure as crisp as the air.

In a whole other space at a whole other time, long from any fountains or figures in the tree, was Oreo. Oreo floated in the gray space between waking and dreaming. It was a comfortable place he was very familiar with. In this space, he always felt secure, as if draped in a weighted blanket with a sunbeam trapped inside there with him—except the sunbeam was not light, just warmth.
